Mayor Castro travels to UK to showoff S.A.

By Dennis M. Ayotte, jr | 18 de noviembre de 2012

San Antonio.- San Antonio over the last several years is becoming better and better known outside of the United States and much of that can be credited to Mayor Julián Castro and his initiatives considering the recognition the city has received of late.

This weekend Mayor Castro, Graham Weston of Rackspace and Greg Goff of Tesoro will travel to the United Kingdom to share the burgeoning opportunities San Antonio provides in a 21st century global economy.

“The communities that thrive in the 21st century global economy will be those that create business relationships with other communities,” said Mayor Castro.

“I’m hoping when we meet with folks in the energy sector and technology sectors to let them know what is happening in San Antonio so in years to come it will mean more opportunities for San Antonio companies,” he added.

Specifically, the mayor will highlight what San Antonio has done in the new energy economy and all of the jobs and corporate headquarters that are in San Antonio.

“This is a beginning to get to know companies in the UK and introduce San Antonio to them so the city is on their radar and part of the conversation as some of the companies look at expanding in the future,” explained the Mayor. “I believe that in the future those ties will pay off.”
