Fresh off the Live Nation tour and a performance on Lopez Tonight!, the freecreditscore.com band, also known as the American Secrets, will make their SXSW debut at 8 p.m. Friday, March 18.
The opening act for indie pop rock star Liz Phair, American Secrets will perform songs from their recently released CD, as well as songs heard in the freecreditscore.com ads, in a free concert at the IFC Crossroads House at SXSW in downtown Austin (East 7th and Brazos).
The freecreditscore.com band won a 2010 summer-long, nationwide band search where America voted to help determine who would star in Experian's freecreditscore.com advertising campaign. Since being selected as the freecreditscore.com band, the band has rocked stages throughout the country as part
of the Live Nation® Fearless Friends Tour.
"Pop music and pop culture have played an integral role in helping freecreditscore.com successfully
reach a broader demographic," Mike Dean, president of Experian Consumer Direct, said.
Don’t miss the freecreditscore.com-branded photo booth at the IFC Crossroads House at SXSW.
The photo booth pictures are free and festival guests can capturthe fun and post the snazzy pics to their Facebook pages.
The big deal is that for every shot taken at the photo booth, freecreditscore.com will donate $1 to the GRAMMY Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to bring national attention to the value and impact of music and arts education.
"SXSW offers a unique opportunity to generate awareness in a fun and interactive setting for the freecreditscore.com brand, while also helping to benefit a charity that equally appreciates and understands the importance of music," Dean added.
The GRAMMY Foundation was established in 1989 to cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded music to American culture — from the artistic and technical legends of the past to the still unimagined musical breakthroughs of future generations of music professionals.
The Foundation accomplishes this mission through programs and activities that engage the music industry and cultural community as well as the general public. The Foundation works in partnership year-round with its founder, The Recording Academy, to bring national attention to the value and impact of music and arts education and the urgency of preserving our rich cultural heritage.
So make sure to make it to the freecreditscore.com-branded photo booth at the IFC Crossroads House -- with budget deficits looming across the country, every penny to help save music and arts education in the schools has serious impact.
"We appreciate the innovative and interactive way that freecreditscore.com is helping to raise funds for our GRAMMY in the Schools music education programs for high school students and schools," Kristen Madsen, senior vice president of the GRAMMY Foundation said.
"Creative promotions like this partnership can also help further general awareness of our work."
