After downloading Trover, the interface uncovers Austin's hidden gems and local charm in an interactive photo mosaic and will help you get there. Attendees can connect with their friends and share tips on their favorite spots with ease. The company who engineered the app is also hosting multiple free arts and entertainment events for locals and conference-goers (details below).
In the six months leading up to SXSW, Trover already caught on with Austin city explorers and expanding their footprint through events like Discover East Austin Mobile Photo Walk and multiple meet-ups. Locals added photos and their favorite finds by sharing them on Trover, creating a must-have app to help get the most out of Austin and SXSW.
"Trover's mission is to engage people around the unique places, personalities, and stories that define a city," Jason Karas, CEO of Trover said.
"Our SXSW walking tours, interactive gallery parties, and the Trover discovery app are powered by artists, foodies, and storytellers who love Austin. We're thrilled to document and showcase some of Austin's hidden gems during SXSW, and to start local conversations that will echo beyond the festival."
SXSW Interactive even nominated Trover for a "Community Award" for getting people involved: in recognition for new services that have attracted an extraordinarily active following of users who assist with content development.
