Registered schools that receive donated My Coke Rewards points between now and Sept. 30, will be eligible to win one of the 25 grants worth $25,000 from Sprite to spark their school’s playground or athletic field. Schools that are currently not registered in the My Coke Rewards for Schools program can register during this period to earn entries towards the Sprite Spark Parks Project for Schools Sweepstakes.

“Being physically active is important for youth development and it enhances their learning readiness, learning behaviors and problem-solving skills. Sprite saw an ongoing need to build and refresh outdoor spaces at schools so that they’re safe, clean and fun. The Sprite Spark Parks for Schools Sweepstakes supports the building, refreshing and creating of active play spaces for students to enjoy at school,” said Karen Oettl, Sprite brand manager at Coca-Cola North America.

Residents can help by donating their points to their schools by entering My Coke Rewards codes found on specially-marked Sprite packaging at mycokerewards.com. During last year’s program, three schools each won a $25,000 playground renovation from Sprite after parents and community members rallied to donate points. Another 20 schools were awarded $5,000 to be used towards athletic equipment for each school.

“The Sprite Spark Parks Project for Schools is an easy way for families to give back to schools. The sweepstakes is part of a multi-year initiative by Sprite to positively impact public play spaces, and it is our hope to encourage citizens to get involved by providing an easy way to make a difference in their communities,” said Oettl.

The Sprite Spark Parks Project for Schools program is giving local schools across the country the opportunity to liven up areas on their campuses where students can play, stay fit and be refreshed all school year long. Community members need to contact their local school’s principal or faculty staff member if their school is not registered and register at mycokerewards.com/schools.

“Sprite is committed to providing families with clean and safe school playgrounds for their children to get active and have fun. Through the Sprite Spark Parks Project for Schools, Sprite will continue to connect with families across the country to share the importance of physical fitness and building active living spaces in our communities. During the Back to School timeframe, seven cities will receive funding in July and August to support the building and refurbishment of playgrounds or athletic fields for their local schools,” said Oettl.

Through its work with teens and parents, Sprite will put more than $2 million into building or revamping a minimum of 150 outdoor spaces throughout the country this year. These spaces include neighborhood parks, basketball courts, playgrounds and athletic fields.

With more than 14 million registered members, mycokerewards.com is one of the top consumer packaged goods loyalty website. By purchasing any of the hundreds of participating products found through bonus offers on cups, scratch cards and coupons, consumers can accumulate lots of points. Then members can easily redeem rewards or donate points to the local school of their choice.
