Henry the Puffy Taco to raise 10k for SA Youth

San Antonio.- Late last week, Henry the Puffy Taco announced his candidacy for “Chips King of Chips N Salsa.” Henry’s campaign is geared towards raising $10,000 for SA Youth, a nonprofit organization that promotes the positive development of San Antonio’s underprivileged urban youth.

“Henry is so excited to help SA Youth in their efforts to develop the character, strengths, talents and skills of San Antonio’s high-risk urban youth,” Imelda Lopez-Sanchez, vice president of Henry’s Puffy Tacos Cantina and spokesperson for Henry said.

“He understands the value of investing in our children’s futures and looks forward to raising funds for this deserving organization,” she added.

Henry’s campaign will run through February 15 and shortly after SA Youth will announce the winner.

“We’re a nonprofit organization so every little bit helps and the awareness Henry is going to raise for our organization is tremendous,” CEO of SA Youth, Cynthia LeMonds said. “We’re really excited to have the Puffy Taco behind us and supporting Chips N Salsa it means the world to us.”

SA Youth has 18 locations city-wide that service over 3000 underprivileged youth a year. The money raised by the Puffy Taco because those funds are unrestricted and can be used for many things to help SA Youth grow as a nonprofit.

“Chips N Salsa raises unrestricted revenue for us so it’s an important source of funds to be able to do the things we wouldn’t be able to do with restricted funds like make needed repairs, take kids on field trips and helps us with our regular program,” LeMonds explained.

Those wanting to contribute to Henry’s cause can visit any of the two locations in town and donate. A donation of a dollar or more receives a Henry the Puffy Taco to color, write their name on and hang on the wall of the restaurant for all to see.
