San Antonio.- The University of Incarnate Word (UIW) is sharing Christmas spirit in more ways than one. In the spirit of giving, students were treated to free holiday dinner in the university’s Sky Room.
Dr. Louis Agnese Jr. hosted the annual President’s Spaghetti Dinner. The event, in its 28th year, features President Agnese’s family recipes. The students got a choice of spaghetti, salad, desserts, and more.
Dr. Agnese said he decided to do the event during his first year at UIW. “It’s a nice way to say happy holidays to everybody,” he said.
The faculty made the desserts, while Dr. Agnese served as head chef.
“Everybody pitches in a little bit to make it nice,” he added. Besides enjoying the food, students were waited on by staff and faculty members and enjoyed music during theirmeal.
Jay Anderson, a senior biology major, always made sure to make it to the event.
“I love it every year,” he said. “It’s a nice environment.”
What Dr. Agnese likes best is making his students happy by being able to provide for them every year.
An added bonus, he said, is “I get to see all the smiling faces.”
